Baby Music Class

Our first step into the world of music!

Our little minds and bodies are developing faster than any other time in our lives and, the research is out, we know that early exposure to music builds better brains! 

The program is intended for ages 0-13 months. We experience a gentle introduction to:

•  beat internalisation for enhanced executive function and more!
•  sensory activities to stimulate all 5 senses, the proprioceptive and vestibular systems and enhance adult/infant bonding
• improvising/responding with instruments and singing 
• musical community through circle dancing and our World Music Jam that involves parents/carers
• rich phonetic learning through singing nursery rhymes, traditionals, lullabies and World Music languages
• a variety of instruments to enhance timbral processing

The songs and activities are carefully chosen to enhance language acquisition and to create links between vocabulary and experience while integrating knowledge. All activities develop memory retention and assist the creation of strong neural pathways through repeated/related language exposure and sequential  learning  - giving a neural processing advantage.

Baby, Beats 'n' Books is a 30 minute class that uses music to focus on early literacy. This is achieved by focusing on:

• Adult and infant bonding through musical activities
• Experiencing the beat of music and language through rhymes, chants, songs, sensory activities and books
• High-quality texts that offer specific developmental benefits

Free instrument play is set up 10 minutes before class starts, this allows the children and parents time to experiment, play and discover. The idea is that, as term progresses and adults have learned the songs and activities, songs can be incorporated into this time.
